Wisteria Hall was built in 1900 by Enon Chance.
This neoclassical Greek revival mansion stands four stories tall and is the tallest surviving residence of the era.
The entrance foyer is flanked by two parlors with twelve foot ceilings and huge pocket doors.
The foyer features a cut-glass entrance door with side lights.
Mrs. Chance designed the Tiffany window depicting birds in flight framed by wisteria vines, hence the name, Wisteria Hall.
Preceding the wide stairs and stained glass window are two large columns that separate the front and rear foyers.
Undoubtedly the most splendid house in Burke County in its day, it is still a sight to behold.
